The Pickup Place / Re: Hot Area T Sound for Strat!
« on: November 29, 2018, 06:19:00 AM »
Thanks, i've been looking for a 62 Reissue Hardtail Strat. I have two older MIJ Tele's and I love the necks. I struggle with Strats, but I know the hardtail is where its at and the Dimarzio Blues are on my list as well. I'm ok with getting it close, its still a strat, but I'm just looking to make that bridge pup a little more usable for my tastes. I appreciated the suggestions.

I was afraid you would say that. I'd try it again, but I haven't been happy when i've tried it in  telecasters before. I haven't been real happy with rail pickups in general.

The Pickup Place / Hot Area T Sound for Strat!

I can look at the numbers and graphs all I want, but I need a recommendation for a strat bridge dimarzio that will get me close to the sound of the Hot Area T. My first option was just to cut a hole and put a hot t in a Strat but I don't want to do that unless I have to.

Looking for a PAF Pro, any color, F or Standard Spacing. Needs to be 4 conductor. If you have anything else around the same kind of output, no looking for anything super hot. anything from PAF to Hot PAF that will pair up nicely with a Pro Track in a Strat.

So his Original Signature Dean had a Dimarzio Humbucker in it. Anyone know what it was?

I have a set of Virtual PAF's in my Mira and damn they sound good. Another set of Virtual's are going in my PRS SE Custom Semi-Hollow this weekend.

Ok, I've read in this thread how well they work for the neck with a hot bridge or in the bridge, but how does a Set sound? Do they make a "calibrated set" for Bridge and Neck? If not hows the balance between them?

My favorite Pickups now, i've paid plenty more of pickups of this caliber.

The Pickup Place / Re: Old timers...Virtual Hot PAF vs 36th bridge?

Sorry bump and old thread, but I was not impressed at all with the Dimarzio 36th. I do however like the old Vintage Dimarzio PAF's that I have had in my Hamer Guitars in the past. So I purchased some NOS Dimarzio Virtual PAF's. A Neck and a HOT Bridge. Does anyone remember how the EQ graph went on both pickups?
