Hello guys, I've an Ibanez RG2570MZ http://ibanez.wikia.com/wiki/RG2570MZ (http://ibanez.wikia.com/wiki/RG2570MZ) which has these pickups http://ibanez.wikia.com/wiki/DiMarzio_IBZ_RG#DiMarzio_IBZ_RG (http://ibanez.wikia.com/wiki/DiMarzio_IBZ_RG#DiMarzio_IBZ_RG)
I want to upgrade the bridge pickup because I don't feel it is very defined and I wanted a fat tone.. I play in a glam metal band '80.
I've ordered the DP100F (super distortion) because I found a great offer, do you think is a good idea to change the IBZ RG with that?
If you look at the description of the IBZ/RG it says:
"Humbucking pickup used for RG series Prestige models in bridge and neck position. According to DiMarzio, the neck pickup is fairly bright-sounding, similar to a DiMarzio Super 2 (DP104). The bridge pickup is a little louder and warmer-sounding, and resembles a cross between the DiMarzio Steve Morse Bridge Model (DP200) and the DiMarzio Super Distortion (DP100)."
Thanks, Dennis

The Super Distortion is indeed a big-sounding pickup. A wall of sound if you will. It should work just fine for what you're after. If you want even bigger and ballsier there's always the Tone Zone. It has a massive kick in the mids and lows, yet it's articulate and defined.
