Hello!
This is my first post greetings everyone.
I currently have PAF-7s in my Ibanez, and was wondering if there's a PU people would consider superior to the PAF-7 neck for cleans and solos. Guitar is mahogany by the way, the RG3727-FZ.
I'm not in any was disatisfied with the PAF-7 but always on the lookout to improve the tone if possible.

My Ibby Universe has the original Blaze in there. It's a basswood guitar.
I'd kind of like to hope that you could tell me the PAF-7 would sound better. lol!
Have you tried to DiMarzio "pickup finder" tool on the official site? Do you have any special wiring (parallel or split) on the PAF-7 that might help it clean up even more?

Honestly the PAF-7s are great but you know what it's like you're looking for the next thing to boost your sound ;D

Generally speaking, my experience is that the Illuminator set is a little more open sounding than the CL/LF set when it comes to the 6-string versions. I cannot speak to the 7-strings. The 6-string Titan neck cleans up nicely and I'm hoping to check out the 7-string version before long.

The PAF 7 is great and is probably one of the best for cleans. The only other pickup I can think of that might be similar is the Ionizer 7.

same here. I like the dirty tones of my universe but not so much the cleans. D-activators seem like a nice upgrade.
