Hi,
Need ultra-hot bridge pickup for a bright Squier 51 guitar. Chosing between Invader and DActivator X. Want to get fat and tight sound in the bridge position.
Tried only Invader 8-10 years ago in a Tele and liked it a lot. But have not tried DActivator X pickups.
Who has tried both of them, who had a chance to compare them? What is the actual difference or similarity between them?
Thanks!

Anyone got any ideas?

Go get some Russian pup, order custom to your sound. Will cost you less, and will be better most likely.

Never played DAX but played Invader 7 string version. I don't like most Seymour Duncan pups and Invader is most unliked SD pup by me :D It is very dark and too fat. Highs are too rolled down. With hi-gain you can not hear your pick mistakes. It is hiding them totally unlike Evolutions or D Activators. And cleans sound dull.

D Activator and Invader are not really all that similar. One if tight, the other is thick.
For something "fat and tight", you might should keep on looking. Have you tried the DMZ pickup picker tool?

Yes, I have. It offers DA, DaX and X2n

I've tried the X2N and the D Activator and the model from that other brand, but not the DAX.
X2N is going to be super hot. And then imagine using an ICBM to take out a house fly. It can get some workable clean tones if you split the coils.
The D Activator is also on the hotter end, and may be a little more versatile. A little more surgical precision when compared to the X2N.
Decide of you want to destroy the crowd with one chord or destroy each person in the crowd one at a time note by note. If that makes sense.
