Have an airzone laying around and starting a new build. Which would be better suited in the neck a air norton or a air classic? Play fusion, jazz, blues and rock. Not a metal guy. Chambered mahogany strat body, maple cap, mahogany neck, rosewood board. I am duplicating another guitar that I built that has AT -1 bridge with air norton s in neck. It is the guitar I use the most and want one with similar sound but maybe a little thicker in bridge and similar sound in neck but maybe a bit more grind. I heard great things about the air classic. My main amp is a Mesa Lonestar. Main pedal up front is vintage ProCo Rat. Thanks!

Quite honestly I think you'd like the Air Classic over the Air Norton. The AN is darker and smoother while the Air Classic has a bit more grit to it.

The Air Classic is a great pickup, but IMHO the best match for an Air Zone is the Bluesbucker, which would be sweet with your setup.

I used an air zone with a 36th Ann neck in a mahogany PRS and they worked well together. The Air Norton is too muddy for me.
