Title: Replacing Fender noiseless with Injectors while keeping S1 intact
Post by: jim777 on March 23, 2026, 01:37:02 PM
Hey Folks,

I have a recent Fender Player II Modified Strat with the noiseless pickups and S1 internals. I like the S1 stuff, but the pickups seriously need to go. I've had great luck with the Injector pickups in my RGs and Jems, so want to go in that direction. I recently bought a P90 from Bootstrap pickups after reading how he had worked one for a Tele player so that it would work with the Tele's S1 switch, so I'm curios if anyone know if the Injectors would work with the S1? I'm guessing they would as the Fender noiseless are dual coils (as far as I know) but wanted to be sure, and see if anyone else had done something similar.
Thanks in advance :)

Hi Jim,

The Fender Noiseless pickup are two wire pickups with one extra ground wire - basically the same as the Injectors (if you ignore the combined black and white wires). So the Injectors should work with the S1 switch.

I also found an article about the general S1 wiring options here: https://www.fender.com/articles/setup/how-the-s-1-switch-gives-you-more-tonal-options

It seems like all switching options only require pickups that have two signal wires and a separate ground wire, confirming my impression that the Injectors should work in this application.

Cheers Stephan

Thanks so much :) Are the Injectors and Area single coil sized humbuckers the same in regards to wiring?
