Title: DP153 Fred on a mim Fender Stratocaster
Post by: Thiago_ on June 10, 2019, 06:13:00 AM
Hello my friends, this is my very first post so, I'm sorry if I'm doing something wrong ok? :-[

Well, I have a mim Fender Strat, floyd rose model, alder body and Rosewood neck. I've putted a DP153 on its bridge position. Guys, it had a perfect match! The sound of this Fred on a Strat is surprisely incredibly balanced!

Have you guys used the Fred on Strats too?

Not in a Strat, but did replace a TB12 (Screamin' Demon) with one in the bridge of a late 80s Charvel and never regretted it for a second. The TB12 sounded like a hollowed out log compared to the Fred. Should have bought the Fred to begin with. I can imagine that it would sound nice in a Strat. Glad you're diggin' it.

Yes. I had one in a 80s style super strat (basswood body, custom neck, Floyd, HSS). The guitar originally had a PAF Pro, which I replaced with a Fred after they came out. Both fine pickups but I expected more of a difference to be honest.

I no longer have that guitar but maybe I should have kept it - it was a very well functioning guitar which sounded more than just decent.

Cheers Stephan

I tried it in a superstrat, but then swapped it out for a Mo' Joe. Much prefer the latter
