how about bring them back with A2 magnets instead of the A5???  I have swapped out the magnet in mine for an A2 and they sound great!!   to me it sounds as good if not better than the duncan 78 model imo which will cost you $160.00

+1 for this newbie.  in fact, i'm having to special order a VHPAF right now (through Mikes Music Shop) because they were discontinued.

Given that Dimarzio had been the pickups of choice for the Musicman Axis guitars for Van Halen, I find it interesting that there is now a new wolfgang guitar being released.  The clips that I have heard, it sounds very PAF-ish.  Could it be the VPaf and VHPaf are the new pups in the new wolfgang?
