Wires the wires under the pickup aren't that fragile you should be able to flip them and squish them a bit if need be.

What happens if you roll down the tone when you're on the bridge pickup?

I haven't tried the Y2D in some years but whatever it had was definitely mid heavy, running it into a Mark V would probably accentuate the nasally tones a bit more.

My usual suggestions would be the Tone Zone, Air Zone or maybe the Transition since they're all kinda brown soundish to me and that's what I'm into.

Noticed in your sig that you tried the Tone Zone before. How does the Gravity Storm compare? I've been itching for a new set of pups and I'm starting to think the Gravity Storm might be worth looking at.

Ever consider looking for the DiMarzio made EVH/Axis pickups? They're hard to get a hold of but totally worth it IMHO.

Awesome review man! Aside from the 80's EVH era sound, one of the tones I always really dug was Slash's tone of Appetite For Destruction. I really should order myself a set. How tall is the pickup itself? I'm thinking of installing it in a EBMM Axis and it doesn't have a whole lot of room. I can't install a D-Sonic because of how tall the pickup is from the baseplate.
