Fake vintage PAF?
« on: June 11, 2016, 06:42:52 PM »
Heya, so recently I bought a vintage dimarzio PAF (said to be from 70s), looks real to me, sounds nice as well tbh. However today I looked at it and saw that something's not right. I realized that the tiny holes on top of the pickup (there are 2 on one side and 1 on the other side) are on reversed sides. Here's 2 pictures of the pickup, hope you can see what I'm talking about on the first picture (for some reason I couldn't put those as images): https://www.dropbox.com/sc/ob6vapl2iic3o3u/AABILFbi3SR7LFEBnguxHYtka

The pup looks really new on the top, which is a surprise compared to my super distortion that's all beaten up (seller said he cleaned the paf and haven't used it for about 15 years). Anyway, I checked some other pafs in google, and I didn't see any other with reversed holes. Anybody got an idea what's wrong with this one, and is it a real one?
Edit: It reads about 7K if that matters (was 7. something, can't read it now tho sadly)
