I think Paul Gilbert used that combo in racer, his neck tone was soooo huge & fluid

Man great review for two extremely underrated creations of awesome...STEVE MORSE & HIS PICKUPS!!! Having seen Steve live with DP & his band, his tone is just as you described, tight, heavy articulate & spanky at times in the same riff.So this was alder how do you think it do in basswood or mahogany???

Hey my fellow dmz lover's,in regard to this post the last year or so I've fallen in love with the simplicity of sss or strat type guitars. They are easy to maintain & with DIMARZIO & SPERZEL LOCKING TUNERS  stay in tune during all my Hendrix moments. The esp LTD ST 213 series is phenomenal!!! Currently I have two squires(nice necks & unplugged sound which is how I buy all my guitars) a "banana " headstock epiphone strat & my late 90's ibanez blazer(underrated guitar).Check out monster guitarist RICK GRAHAM demo of the LTD ST 213 & you will be impressed.Remember he demo's them with stock pickups so IMAGINE if he HAD 2 FAST 1'S & AN AT IN THE BRIDGE!!! The demo convinced me so currently am saving my coins...hope that helps love & peace @ ya 😊🎸

The Pickup Place / Re: Evolution in a Les Paul?

My experience with evolution bridge was very hot & aggressive in a super strat, probably would sound even better in a les Paul with mahogany & substantially more wood

Myself also am looking into more sss guitars, the esp ltd  strats are more in my budget. Also I like the fact of extra jumbo frets for ease of finger bending.THE neck profile is what I'm interested in most, but check out mighty mite for replacement parts hope that helps if you get the ltd keep me posted cause I'd like to hear about em 😊

Man,go TONE ZONE & notes AND chords jump out, once you find the "sweet spot" for your style & guitar(which I advise ALWAYS do) you get an aggressive pickup that is warm & organic.Best in my opinion for medium gain or JUST AT high gain & sounds good on semi cleans.Hope that's helpful peace @ you :)

Hey guys loooong time, been busy writing playing & living a good life. That guy from Thermion is awesome what's a good album of theirs with him on it to get.Plus I'm going to put a super 3 in a mexi strat(alder) or squire ( basswood) both maple fretboard, sperzel locking tuners & vintage bridge. Currently I play through a Blackstar I'd 100 head. What would be good single coils to go with the super 3 for sweeps, skipping & technical playing any help would be appreciated thanks!!!
