Title: What pickup is this?
Post by: jeppespelar on September 19, 2017, 05:20:54 AM
Hi guys!

This is an old pickup I got from my father. He doesen't remember exactly when he bought it but thinks it might have been the late seventies. Can you guys help me ID it? Would be fun to know what I'm using! Its all plastic and no more information than made by dimarzio in the us on the back.

Could it be a Super Distortion? (soley based on popularity at the time. Don't think my father ever was an "against the grain" kinda guy you know...  ;D )

Anyhow, any help or guess appriciated!

Regards,
Jesper

They had a bass pickup called a Model G that had a closed plastic cover like that.

I’m trying to remember the guitar version. It might be the original Super 2. It was a less wound version of the SD.

It could be a Super2. Finally tried it in my les paul yesterday and the output wasn't that high... Not much of a difference to the original epiphone, output wise at least. Had a hard time balancing it against the neck.

Thanks!  :)
