I'll bet you'll pay full price too. Why buy direct?

The Pickup Place / Re: How does the Chopper fair when split?

I have it set up for series and parallel modes. Parallel mode is brighter and lower output - a very useable tone.
So is parallel brighter than split?

I've got Choppers in the neck position of a couple guitars and before I go replacing volume pots and rewiring them I was hoping some folks could chime in with their experiences on how they sound when split.
Lower output, but not really much brighter, if at all. I had a guitar with a Chopper in the neck and series/parallel/split switching. Every sound was useful and distinct.
Thanks for the reply.

What do the other modes (parallel and split) sound like? Do any of them get brighter? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I love the Satch Track. If you dig the Chopper I think you might like the ST even more.
i think I will. The Chopper matches well with the the Tone Zone in that it's thick like the TZ. I think the Satch Track will work well with the the 36th PAF.

I love 36th PAFs, Injectors, Choppers, and I just ordered a Satch Track which I have high hopes for.

Ive got Tone Zones in a couple guitars but I want to replace them. They're too different from the PAFs which I find much more versatile.

Considering all the pickups Gilbert has used over the years the pickup doesn't really seem to matter. :)

Chopper or Pro Track.

Thanks for the reply but I'm using the Chopper in the neck position so the change in tone from splitting it may be desirable, especially since I'm not running it in a Tele.

I've got a dual humbucker Tele loaded up with EJ Customs that I love. They give a nice variation to my other dual humbucker guitars and 3SC Strats.

I would just email Dimarzio tech support directly. They'll get back to you really quick.

I've bought about 2 dozen Dimarzio PAFs and never received an Allen wrench with one because they don't need them due to their flathead pole pieces.

The Pickup Place / Re: DiMarzio Custom Shop pricing?

To be clear there is no Dimarzio custom shop. They ave some cosmetic options but that's it. After that either they offer a model or they don't. Want a VHPAF? Can't order one. Want a different different magnet? No dice. If the pickup is discontinued you can't order.

Duncan has a custom shop. They'll wind you what you want, let you pick the magnet, etc.
