The Pickup Place / Pickups in Sterling JP60

Call me crazy but I have a Sterling JP60 with stock non Dimarzio pickups that I prefer the overall sounds to the Musicman JP6 with Crunchlab. The Sterling seems to have a warm character that I like, while not being too hot or dull.

I've played both and I wanted to know if anyone has any ideas that what the stock Sterling JP60 pickups are closest to in terms of tone(to any aftermarket pickups). I kind of doubt if it is really modelled after a CL because I really dislike the CL when I tried it.

The only thing I would like is to have a better clarity. Thanks!

I usually prefer PAF types in the neck position, but if you have a 24 fretter that is bright, this might be the key to get a great, warm but clear sounding neck position. I'm surprised to see how well it suited for jazzy runs on my PRS SE Akerfeldt, the other PAFs I tried before are too hollow and dry sounding in that guitar.

Do you guys know of any 7string pickups that sounds similar to a Norton? I'm looking for one to put into my Schecter 7 string bridge.

Take an Air Norton 7, and remove the airbucker spacers...

Any guides on how to do that? I've seen a few on how to "air" the pups, but no pics
