Just curious what volume pot values folks are using with Bluesbuckers.

Please share.

500k audio with the coils in series, add a 470k resistor to ground in split mode to approximate a 250k load.

Thanks for the reply. If I'm just going to run it in series or parallel, do you feel the 500k would be fine or would you still want to add the resistor to the circuit.

Speaking of which how exactly is the resistor in the circuit?

500k is fine for your purpose.

Thanks. I'll stick with a 500K for now. I like 'em bright anyway.  ;)

Easier to tame a bright guitar than brighten a dark one.  :-)

I would also use the resistor for the parallel mode.

If you use a push-pull pot you can solder the resistor across the two middle lugs. In series mode these two lugs are connected so the resistor is effectively not in the circuit. In parallel mode the resistor connects hot to ground thereby making the pickup "see" a pot load close to 240k.

Cheers Stephan

I run the Bluesbucker in series/split in one of my main guitars, and I have used it extensively in parallel. I like how bright it gets when split so I don't try to warm up that sound. But I will concur that in parallel it is still very bright, maybe a hair less than split, but not by much.
