DiMarzio Chrome Covers

Has anyone here used a ground wire on a chrome topped DiMarzio pickup cover? Are they conductive to block 60 cycle hum?

I have not used DiMarzios with chrome covers but if they are supposed to reduce hum from outside interferences they have to be conductive and be connected to ground.

AFAIK they're not magnetically conductive, which helps keep the tonal changes to a minimum, but also doesn't do much for shielding.
