Everything you wanted to know about .... / Re: The FS-1

Will be selling my RG321 away and will be getting a japanese fender strat, definitely gonna get this FS1 and true velvet middle and neck later on. I still think a strat is a more versatile workhorse if you wanna play pop songs and top 40s in a pub.

I hate it to the max, compressor gives you sustain but takes away your picking dynamics. And I can't live without picking dynamics. I heard some people  says it helps your picking technique though.

Alright', I'm free yesterday and change the direction of the evo neck and you know what. There's not much difference to be called it different at all, just with the lead towards the neck is a bit louder but in terms of tone it's the same.

It's still one of my favourite pickup of all time, I install this in my cheap Rg in the bridge with a inf 1 in the neck for nightclub playing every friday and saturday and it really is a versatile pickup, switch it into 4th or 2nd position and you can funk like mad :) Will be getting another paf pro to put it into the neck position of my rg350.

You try emailing steve and see, he'll tell you there's no difference at all, he'll say that all dual resonance pickup will sound the same except for D sonic and certain other pickup. Or maybe he's got too many to reply that he doesn't have time to explain.

include the Air Norton™, Air Zone™, Evolution® neck, bridge and 7-string, FRED®, Humbucker from Hell™, DLX Plus™ neck and bridge models, Virtual P-90™, Blaze™ neck and bridge models and Tone Zone 7™. <------these all sound different but only slightly and some will hear it and some won't. I can tell the difference. I'll make up the clip for you in the next few days or sooner

That's what I'm trying to say, that's why  I install my air norton backwards. I just wanna know how the evo neck sounded flipped.

I wonder if you can make a clip of evo neck with the lead towards the bridge.

My favourite neck pickup to date, IMO it's a rather hotter version of paf pro although the evolution neck measures at 294mv while the paf pro at 300mv but the evo neck is much hotter than the paf pro, most probably because of the ceramic magnet. It's aggresive and definitely bitey for a neck pickup and it's not muddy at all. I think IMO the evo neck suits well with Evo2 rather than the original evolution bridge. And the evo neck is a versatile neck pickup as well.

That being said, the Tone Zone is NOT muddy when readjusted correctly. The two posts above have, as bud said, hit the nail on the head. The Tone Zone is a VERY finicky pickup that you have to get *just* right. But, when you do get it right, you are in tonal bliss.
It's more than pickup height, it's personal preferences and individual playing style, like for instance you say air norton is muddy, I've got many people saying air norton isn't muddy, that said I've got an air norton in my Rg with D sonic. And have yet to try air norton yet waiting for my neck to return.

Definitely done a lot of eqing.... I've had much luck with evo2, paf pro D activator andevolution than tone zone, tone zone if pushed can get muddy. Whereas the pickup I mention can handle tons of gain without getting muddy at all. I worked part time in the guitar store defiinitely looks into pickup height and tons of amp comes in and I have to try and play and eqing all the amp to my liking when I tested it.

I played another tone zone in an alder bodied the other day, it certainly is a muddy pickup when pushed..... Sadly....
