hi
maybe you wanted to find like me the best super strat ever made 

the problems for me are about the sounds with the neck pickup
if you have a band or just at home, you can't be always satisfied with a moderate vintage neck pickup without any big sustain but with hum and without the warm tones of a humbucker like a PAF

they often put a single coil pickup for the neck position without thinking to the other side: the humbucker, the PAF tones we can like for the Blues and also for the neck position

so, we have some choices: sss or hss  and that's all !
for me it's not enough

both are not perfect

so, i suppose a boost can be good, a 25 db boost like Clapton or the one that Lukather has
but Lukather plays with his ceramic pickups and  i would prefer some alnico pickups
maybe some people have a LUKE II III here ?
About the Cutlass - silhouette : not perfect too cos' no boost inside

Another solution would be to change the wirings
or to add a boost to a cutlass:) not a bad idea but it needs a luthier to add the battery

Ibanez has the az2204 but not with DImarzio pickups
and i can think about some other pickups i can not talk about here lol

if you see this guitar, you will see that this one is again with a basswood body
why ?

i prefer when there was an alder body like his last guitars
so, for the price, it is strange

Second, the guitar for his last cd is great = this guitar has a mirror body like before and 24 frets /sustainer

i have a js 1200 : the color is amazing
so,
i really don't understand the
craze and  the exorbitant prices
for these  guitars with  these horrible drawings
worthy of a child : 5 years old maximum  but the price is for millionaires

for the price, we could hope for a beautiful color
I prefer his red or purple  model without his ugly drawings
done !

i really like the power of the EMG 85 : crazy harmonics and high power

the emg 81 was different: ceramic and not alnico

i just helped this raising it to be close to the strings and it was better

but, is it really the top EMG pickup ? or just a very dark sound for a guitar solo ?

hello

i would like to have a versatile guitar with EMG pickups

from funk to blues to heavy metal using the bar and the harmonics

so,  i think about EMG's because i only have a little guitar with EMG sv sv 85 and i like it
but it's not enough : no tremolo and just a sv (strat ) for the neck pickup
The problem is like warm tones from a humbucker and classic vintage single coils tones too

so, i thought a bout the Gilmour set but maybe with an EMG 85

or sa sa 85 + boost for the SA

in the shops, it's strange there are not guitar like that
we have DEAN mab= emg Sa in the middle and HSH

we have Lâg with EMG s which is not a SA
we have Vigier with an expensive model

we have Lukather and his look but i would prefer a better double cutaway or 24 frets

and EMG told me that EMG Slv is not strat at all: it's like a mini humbucker so i don"t know what to think

i know the ESP glen Tipton with 2 EMG 81 signature +tremolo = ok i don't know if it's a good guitar considering his signature model is a pure ESP and not LTD-ESP with a different price

or i should find a strat first but i would prefer 24 frets : it's better for comfort
