The Trading Post / LTB: Gold hex pole pieces
« on: November 28, 2023, 01:09:15 PM »
I'm looking to swap out the black hex lugs in my Gravity Storms for gold and it seems Dimarzio no longer sells parts.

Can anyone help a brother out here?

Regular spaced and in white. Open to others that might pair well with an AT1

The Pickup Place / 7 string thoughts
« on: April 03, 2020, 09:11:53 PM »
I have an Ibanez Fujigen RG7420 on the way and some where along the line have acquired a Blaze Custom to swap into the bridge. What does everyone like in the neck of a 7 string? I've largely settled on a Blaze neck or PAF7, but I'm open to other suggestions.
I'm not a djent guy and not really a metal guy, so I don't need tight and aggressive. I'm more of a "classic rock 7 stringer," if that is such a thing.

Everything you wanted to know about .... / Re: The Bluesbucker

Ok...just to bring a thread back from the dead; I'm dying to get one of these Ibanez, but I'm lukewarm on the stock pickups. Would a Bluesbucker bridge with a Twang King or True Velvet T neck blend together well?

I'm looking at an old Korean Ibanez (2 humbucker, mahogany/maple, fixed bridge,) and I'm  but underwhelmed by the stock pups. Musically, I'm a little ll over the map(no country) and amp wise we're looking at Fender DRR, JCM800, Carvin rack stuff, JC77...sometimes all at once!

Will the SS and Fred work in mahogany or will they be tertible?

I should also add, my primary guitar is currently a HSH setup with Gravity Storms and an Evolution single coil.

I've stumbled onto a PAF Master with two Area 67 as a pre wired set. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks for the input so far! Musically, I tend to be a bit all over the map. Anything from Vai/Satch/Johnson to old Motown to Classic Rock...anything but country. The amps are a mix of Marshalls(JCM 800, 4140)and Boss modeling gear.

I had the Evo2 for awhile and really liked it. I sold it and have been kicking myself since. I had thought the Evo2 with maybe a Pro Track middle and Chopper neck could work.

I had also thought about a Duncan JB with a couple of SDS1 as I was a huge Jake E Lee fan back in the day.

Crunch Lab or Illuminators had not occurred to me.

I'm wiring my old Washburn back together and plan to keep it in D standard/drop C. The current configuration is HSS. I have no idea what wood this thing is made out of but it has one of those "Washburn Wonderbars" on it. I may eventually change that, but for now I'm stuck with it.

What is everyone's suggestions for pickups, pots, etc to maintain clarity? I'm not looking for high output. I currently have an FS1 and a True Velvet middle in the parts drawer, but I'm not sure this is what I want to use them for. I'm leaning towards a PAF Pro in the bridge, but I'm just not sure.

My ears are open. What do you suggest?

The Gravity storm set is very nice. The neck compliments the bridge very nicely.

As for the AT1, I have talked to several people that have a Humbucker From Hell paired with their AT and speak very highly of the combo.

Unsure on ohms as I currently have no way to read them.

I bought this off eBay a few years back under the pretense that it was an Evolution neck model. It was recently pointed out that this is CLEARLY not an Evolution. Can any of you experts give me an idea what I have on my hands here? Any help is much appreciated!
