Which pickup works best with Air Zone and FT1?
« on: June 07, 2015, 11:42:09 AM »
Hi guys,

I don't like the 54 Pros in my strat so I am replacing them. I just swapped a guy, one of my 54 Pros for his Fast Track 1.
I an AZ bridge and one FT1. I am not sure what other noiseless single to get nor where to place it.
I love Andy Timmons tone but I find the Cruisers too weak.
So I am hoping the Fast Tracks do me better.

What do you all recomend - another FT1? A Satch Track or Chopper? Which for middle and which for neck?

I know many times guys will use a weaker pickup in the middle. For me, I like using the middle sometimes alone, so I would think it should be hotter than normal.
I hear guys using Chopper middle and Fast Track 1 neck.

What don't you like about the 54? Did your dislike extend to having the 54 in the middle slot?

Have you thought about AZ bridge, 54 middle, and FT1 neck? That would be a sweet combo IMHO.

Thanks,

I ended up with 2 Fast Track 1s along with the AZ.

The 54 Pro was way to thin, weak and I didn't like playing them at all.

I also may end up going with the AZ and 2 Satch Tracks.

I never us the inbetween strat positions, except once in a while.

I would go with the Chopper in the middle personally since I find that it has more of that strat vibe going on. Otherwise I'd go with the Fast Track 2 in the neck with a Fast Track 1 in the middle for a guitar that I want more output on.
