The Pickup Place / Gold Hex's For SDS-1 p/u's
« on: April 23, 2022, 12:11:53 PM »
Hi all,,, Dimarzio is not shipping only polepieces at this time, so I'm looking for a source of (according to Dmz) 10-32 1" gold polepieces for my SDS-1's. What I'm not certain of if they're fine or coarse threading.
Thnx in advance for all assistance~

In a nutshell what are the sonic differences between these 3, & what positions are they each best suited for?
Thanks, kenny

The Pickup Place / Set Screws For Older SDS-1 pup?
« on: May 15, 2019, 06:34:21 PM »
Hi all~  thinking of putting gold set screws in my pup, & was wondering what size & length, etc., & could I expect a change in sound from the 40 yr. old screws that are in there now?  Where to buy them?
Thanks a million~~

The Pickup Place / P90 Choices

Sorry if i posted twice:

SDS-1 woes aside, which P90's do folks around here like for bridge & neck in a rosewood neck Strat with new Blender Pot harness. Since my middle SDS1 is kinda hot @ 8.6k, I'm thinking of some Vintage SD's, or some Hot Toneriders my pal raves about. Fralin, Antiquities & Lollars are probably only a little bit better but at a big price diff. I don't want anything too dark & murky.... not too hot & muddy. But I'm open to suggestions & eager to hear from ya'll.
Thanks

 Older 70's Dimarzio SDS1 wiring question~~
Hi. I recently picked up an older SDS1 that has a total of 4 wires: bare, black, green & white. It will be going into the middle position opposite 2 P90's. 10 different blogs have 15 differing answers as to what's what. I was under the impression that it was a single coil p/u, so I'm a little confused. Bare is obviously ground, but what about the other 3? Is one left taped off, & is there the option that there are two hots, with one of them being a lower output lead?
I'm lost...the p/u is in transit so I can't measure stuff. But what's the general layout of my four leads?
Thanks all~~
