I haven been over here in a pretty good while but am a regular on the Duncan board. Just picked up a nice carvin DC 600 that has the JP set of a Liquifier in the neck Crunch Lab in the bridge. Liking the Liquifier but that Crunch Lab is WAY to bright and harsh in this guitar. Want to stay with Dimarzios here as been a while since i have run a set in one of my guitars. This one will share the stage with my other 2 Carvin Kiesels. The other pair are a 2017 Kiesel DC 135 with a Duncan Perpetual burn in the bridge and a pair of AP11 Carvins and a 1993 KOA DC 127 running a Dunacan Sentient neck and an Alt 8 Bridge. I'm thinking AT-1 or maybe a Satur8 in the bridge here but open to suggestions.
I'm primarily a modern Worship player but run few effects and mostly high gain tube amps using touch and guitar volume to clean up.
Here is a live clip with the KOA DC 127 through by Mesa Subway Rocket running the Sentient/ Alt 8 combo.

Which coil is near to the bridge? The coil with the bar? Or the coil with the adjustable poles?
The Crunch Lab will be brighter with the bar towards the bridge.
With the adjustable pole pieces toward the bridge, the sound is warmer.
May be worth to try the latter, if that isn't the orientation you have already, before you buy anything else.

Interesting. I've found the Crunch Lab to have quite a smooth top end. Maybe have the bar coil facing the neck instead?

Another trick is to maybe lower the pickup

Flip the Crunch Lab around and lower it a tad. It'll change the characteristics a bit. If that doesn't work then I'd say try the Illuminator.
