Title: Cruiser Bridge in Bridge position?
Post by: Nobozos on June 17, 2018, 09:42:18 AM
Has anyone actually installed a Cruiser Bridge pickup in the Bridge position of a Strat. I’ve looked on YouTube and Dimarzio website, and can’t dind a single demo do a Cruiser Bridge actually installed in the Bridge position. Based on the description on their site, it may be the pickup I’m looking for, but I can’t find a single Demo.

So, here is what I’m trying to accomplish. I have a Strat with Texas Specials. I want a Bridge pickup that is a good match for the Texas Specials and sounds Stratty on the clean side,  it will take on more of a Humbuckers characteristics when played high gain.

I tried Cruiser in bridge position of my strat for couple weeks, paired with Red Velvet combo. For me the Cruiser isn't quite stratty and seemed darker and humbuckerish compared to RVs.

I once had the cruiser in the bridge of my ESP Vintage Plus S before, which was a strat copy they did.

In the bridge, the cruiser has a lot of the strat vibes but much fuller sounding. Although based on what you're looking for, I'd also consider the Injector bridge. It's got more of the humbucker characteristics when playing with high gain.
