Yeah. That is what I thought too. I thought he somehow got a set before they released, and I was trying to goad him into giving us a review of them. I was kidding when I started poking fun at him, but now I really am beginning to wonder...

You know, with some people, when you tease them you can actually achieve the opposite. Just let him review them when he feels he has a clear picture of them.
There's also the honeymoon phase - I cannot tell you how many times I had a set over only to change my mind about them after a few days.

Bottom line: Darth will post the review when he feels it's the right time to do it.

with regard to the PAF Master set, I did buy that one.  how long it took me to pull those from the guitar could have been clocked with an egg timer.

Care to elaborate? Would love to hear your impressions on the PAF Master set and what it was you did not like about them

It was a custom order from Thomann. I asked for zebra DP256 and zebra DP257F.
I received the above.
I was just curious - if that's supposed to be like that and if the DP256 is supposed to be reversely installed for the traditional double zebra look or if the German distributor somehow did a small error in choosing the right zebras.
They offered to exchange it - but I was still curious

Question on these... I ordered 2 zebra (black/creme) pickups, 1 DP257 and 1 DP256.
I received the below.
As you can see one has the screw coil in black, the other has the screw coil in creme.
Are these supposed to be like this? Is the neck DP256 supposed to be installed in reverse (as JP did with the Air Norton back in the 90s)?

I'll be playing through my Kemper amp - main;y hot rodded Marshall JVM and JCM sounds!

Sound like the Illuminators are exactly what I'm looking for - a more clear version of the CL/LF combo.

The FRED sounds like it will be right up my alley for a hot rodded modern PAF style pickup.

From your descriptions, I think I did pretty good with both combos... let's see if I prefer the FRED in neck or bridge and the Breed_neck vice versa!
