but the most that they get its free advertising. it doesn't cost them a cent and it gets to almost every guitar player.

I'm pretty sure Yngwie gets Royalties for each YJM that was sold. If he's going with Fender that wouldn't surprise me since Fender has VERY deep pockets full of coin and it's got to be quite a substaintial difference if he's leaving a company he's been endorsed with for well over 20 years.

This does give me something to harass the folks at Dimarzio about during NAMM.

IF Yngwie left fender, why would fender do a limited collection of his vintage yellow strat down to the masking tape and perm markers on the body?  I watched about a month ago on mtv and yjm was inspecting the first relic to come out and compare it to his main guitar and fender said that they would produce 50 or 100 of these-----maybe im ignorant, but thats my impression

Yngwie didn't leave Fender.

We're saying we think he may have left DiMarzio, and Fender may have wound custom pickups for him, which he may (or may not) endorse in the future. Or maybe he went to Seymour Duncan. Or Dunkin' Donuts. It's all speculation at this point.

ok city- heres a question --- if yngwie is leaving dimarzio and they change the name to hs-4, would the public still get chraged the price of an endorsed pickup from him or would the hs-4 be cheaper?  im just asking - im a humbucker user but am considering placing 2 s/c in a bucker slot ( ie multibucker ) with a mini toggle

its going to be the same price. Those endorsement expenditures are tax shelters.
