brilliant observation! Yup, looks like Yngwie is now a free agent. Maybe we'll see a new Duncan YJM??

Very interesting...  I'm surprised Yngwie left, but I guess if Fender gives him enough money... well.. you know...

Yeah, Fender must have promised MEGA bucks, cos they have gotten rid of all traces of him, his sig Straps and cables are gone too.

Odd.  I can't think of anyone more closely associated with DiMarzio and the "DiMarzio Tone" in my mind besides Yngwie.. Even Petrucci or Vai or DiMeola aren't as typical to my ears

Final Conversation between larry D. And Yngwie;

Larry; Yngwie, baby, ya know what this means don't you? No more free donuts backstage".
Yngwie; "Yah, I've thought about that, but lately there hasn't been any  Lemon Filled Cruellers".
Larry; " Yngwie, I told you, only certain places take special orders on lemon filled Cruellers".
Yngwie; "Well, Fender has promised me a dozen lemon filled cruellers at any venue I play".
Larry; "I don't know what to tell you Yngwie.."
Yngwie; "How about goodbye, Larry."
Larry; "Goodbye Yngwie, but if you ever want the best cinammon rolls around, and you know  I know where to get them,  you know where to come back to"
Yngwie;" Yah"

It's funny, Yngwie's ALWAYS plugged DiMarzio first, in any video I've seen him in.

But I think of Vai, Gilbert, Petrucci, and Satch as DiMarzio tone before I think of Yngwie.

But this goes to show you... when you get fat and old, follow the money. No offense to Yngwie, he's a phenomenal player, but, well, you know.

That does explain Dave Mustaine.  Love the guy to death but he's an unreliable narrator if ever there was.

All donut jokes aside, yeah, kind of sad about Yngwie. He really COULD unleash the Fookin' FURY!;

Musical instrument companies do not throw the kind of money at artist as many believe. Most artist get discounted or free gear and promotion, but there is no money. Signature artist get royalties of course, and I doubt YJM got anything more than a royalty check from Larry.

I can't see anyone throwing real money at YJM for pups, so who knows the real reason.

They do get commissions from how many of their signature guitars are sold. I don't know bout pickups though since it's little money involved.
