The Pickup Place / DiMarzio Titan 7™ (Jake Bowen Signature)
« on: January 05, 2016, 10:55:48 am »
Hey guys,

I just installed the new DiMarzio Titan 7 pickups and recorded this vídeo. These pickups are awesome. Very similar to the 6 string version. Hope you enjoy:

The Pickup Place / Re: DiMarzio Ionizer 7 vs Illuminator 7 | Comparison
« on: November 01, 2015, 01:13:16 pm »
To me the difference is mostly in the attack where the Illuminator seems to be more present. I also hear more clarity in the arpeggiated chords.

Cheers Stephan

I agree.

Both are great pickups!

Thank you for the comments, guys :)

The Pickup Place / DiMarzio Ionizer 7 vs Illuminator 7 | Comparison

Hey guys,

I changed the Ionizers that I had in my Jeff Loomis and took the oportunity to record a comparison between the Ionizer Bridge and the Illuminator Bridge.

Which of them do you prefer?

The Pickup Place / Re: CrunchLab 7 bar towards bridge?
« on: October 19, 2015, 06:35:25 am »
I recently bought an Ibanez RGA 7 (mahogany body, 5 piece maple/walnut bolt on neck) with CrunchLab/LiquiFire combo off craigslist. The CrunchLab was installed with the bar towards the neck and sounded muddy and undefined. I turned the pickup around and it is one of the best pickups I've ever heard. It has bite and saturation for days, and note definition is incredible. Is there something off with the pickup?

I had the same experience with this guitar:

Definitely the CL7 in mahogany works better with the bar towards the bridge.

Got any sound clips of that Brunetti amp?? The controls on that just looks mind boggling.

There are some clips in the brunetti's website, but i don't like them. Sound very diferent to my 059. I'm trying to upload sound clips the next week.

It's a valve amp (EL34) with three channels. Channels can be switched using a MIDI footcontroller.

It has a "Tone Reverse" mode. With this mode you can use the second channel with the Channel 3 eq and viceversa.

The 059 has a very characteristic sound. Channel 1 is VERY clean, the best clean channel I've heard. The 2nd channel sounds like a JCM800 but more aggressive (this channel has a lot of gain. Metal rhythm guitars sound killer!). The channel 3... well, I can't compare this channel with other amp. More gain than the second channel and great tone. Perfect for soloing.

Excellent  topic!

I completely agree about the Blaze Bridge. IMO the best 7string pickup for bridge!
