The Trading Post / Duncan humbuckers - $65 shipped
« on: October 03, 2019, 09:50:16 pm »
Distortion f-spaced
59 neck 2 conductor

Plenty of lead wire on each. I'd consider trades for 4 conductor pickups for neck or f-spaced bridge. Otherwise, I'm asking for $65 shipped for each.

Guitar Lounge / Schaller, Gotoh or Original Floyd Rose?
« on: December 25, 2018, 09:44:08 pm »
Hi everyone, Merry Christmas!

I'm considering replacing the Washburn branded FR on my N24. Compared to my Wolfgang and other guitar that has a Floyd, thus one just feels cheap and seems to affect the tone in a bad way. Which model should I choose for a replacement?

The Pickup Place / Can anyone offer pickup wiring help?
« on: December 15, 2018, 07:50:59 pm »
Not sure if anyone would be able to lend some knowledge. I'm replacing the cheap push pull pot that came with my Washburn N24, along with replacing the neck pickup with an SD Jazz. I've also cleaned up all of the unnecessary extra wire that was crammed in there. I've wired everything up the same way it was. The exception being the Jazz wire colors are different than the original Washburn neck pickup. So, I have the red and white Jazz wires where the Washburn red and green wires were. And the black Jazz wire where the white Washburn wire was. I'm getting sound, but it's very faint. The switching and coil tapping is also working.

The Pickup Place / Help with Washburn N24 wiring
« on: November 24, 2018, 09:59:10 pm »
I'm trying to replace the dull Washburn neck pickup in my N24 with a Duncan Jazz. But, I want to be sure what I have before I start disconnecting things. What I'm seeing doesn't match any of the wiring diagrams that I'm finding online. It's 2 Humbucker, 1 push/pull volume for coil split, 3 way toggle. The diagrams are only showing wires soldered to 4 of the 6 spots on the push/pull pot. But mine has wires soldered to all 6. The gray wire that I'm holding is the neck pickup wire. It appears to have a black grounded to the pot, a green and a red soldered to the far right lug of the push/pull, and a white soldered to the far left lug of the push/pull.

The Pickup Place / Washburn N24 pickup suggestions
« on: November 22, 2018, 01:15:09 pm »
Hi everyone, I'm considering replacing the pickups in my N24. The stock Washburn neck pickup is not very good. Very dull sounding. I might give the L500XL in the bridge a bit more time before deciding if I want to replace it. But I definitely want to replace the neck pickup. This guitar is made of agathis wood.

Any suggestions?

I have a few posts going about this guitar in other forums, but I wanted to start one here specific to pickup recommendations. I'm looking for replacement pickups for my Les Paul Traditional. It came with a 57 Classic/57 Classic Plus set.  I'm finding the neck really boomy and muddy.  The bridge is a bit shrill.  I play mostly rock, hard rock, some classic rock, and some heavier stuff (AIC, 90s Tool, etc). Nothing super heavy. I'm playing through either a Ceriatone Chupacabra (Jose modded 800 style head) or a DSL. No matter what tone I need, I always seem to drift towards that classic VH type of tone (think VH2). But, I'd still like some versatility for classic rock and clean stuff. So far, there are a few pickups I've considered, but I wanted to get opinions from the masters.

The Pickup Place / Single coils to pair with a Super Distortion
« on: March 19, 2015, 01:36:00 pm »
I'm building an HSS strat with a Super Distortion in the bridge.  Right now, it just has the no name single coils that came with the Allparts loaded pickguard.  I'm looking for some good single coil pickup recommendations that will pair well with the Super D, and still give me those great strat neck/neck+mid sounds.  It would also be great to get a usable bridge+mid sound.  With the current pickups, those positions are just too dead.

The Trading Post / Wanted - Dimarzio Breed bridge
« on: July 25, 2013, 11:38:33 am »
I'm looking for a zebra (black/creme) Dimarzio Breed f-spaced.

I'm not really sure what these are going for so I'll start at $300, split shipping. The original Duncan Designed pickups were replaced with a SD JB/59 set. Also, one of the tone knobs has been replaced with a push button kill switch. I'd also consider a trade for a Tele!

The Trading Post / FS/FT - Marshall DSL 50
« on: February 17, 2013, 01:43:19 pm »
I'm just putting this out here as a feeler.  Possibly thinking of selling/trading my DSL.  I don't gig as often anymore, so this head is overkill for me.  It's in great shape, just a few tolex tears.  I would include whichever power tubes your prefer from the following.

The Trading Post / FS/FT - Brand new 59n - $65
« on: February 04, 2013, 03:13:08 pm »
I have a brand new, still in box, 59n pickup. Zebra, long legs. I bought it in the JB/59 set, and the long legs won't fit on my guitar. I'd take the same thing, but with short legs, or $65 shipped.
