The Pickup Place / Re: Hot Area T Sound for Strat!
« on: November 29, 2018, 06:19:00 AM »
Thanks, i've been looking for a 62 Reissue Hardtail Strat. I have two older MIJ Tele's and I love the necks. I struggle with Strats, but I know the hardtail is where its at and the Dimarzio Blues are on my list as well. I'm ok with getting it close, its still a strat, but I'm just looking to make that bridge pup a little more usable for my tastes. I appreciated the suggestions.

I was afraid you would say that. I'd try it again, but I haven't been happy when i've tried it in  telecasters before. I haven't been real happy with rail pickups in general.

I can look at the numbers and graphs all I want, but I need a recommendation for a strat bridge dimarzio that will get me close to the sound of the Hot Area T. My first option was just to cut a hole and put a hot t in a Strat but I don't want to do that unless I have to.

Looking for a PAF Pro, any color, F or Standard Spacing. Needs to be 4 conductor. If you have anything else around the same kind of output, no looking for anything super hot. anything from PAF to Hot PAF that will pair up nicely with a Pro Track in a Strat.

For a guy that doesn't collect things, I sure collect a lot of shit!  I've bought, sold, scoured, traded, everything from Duncan, Dimarzio so some of the best boutique builders. I have to say these stack up to some of the best. But if your one that buys into the hype that is the boutique market and your pickups have to cost $375 to $600 for a set then move along. Now if you want a sweet sounding humbucker that plays nice clean, or dirty and allows you to play with dynamics these are for you.

I buy, sell, trade because I i'm trying to compile and learn about everything guitar. From time to time, I find something that makes me tick and I "collect" a few just in case. Just so happens that in the last four guitars that have been in the stable with Humbuckers have all received the V or the VH. The neck position stays clean yet warm, bluesy but not muddy which is very hard to do. The bridge is full but not hot enough to clip your amp with any harshness and not weak with no punch. I have but one humbucker guitar and currently have no plans to pull the pups in it. My incoming Shishkovs with be loaded with Custom Winds by our very own Josh Gravelin.

There are a few out there still NOS but they don't make them anymore and they won't. If you buy a set we can work out a Price for a Set.

The List is:

I am very aware of the status of production of one of Dimarzio's best pickups. Sad to say they don't make them anymore because they are just that good.

I updated my search and have listed a few for trade or sale. Thanks so much to those who have added to my little collection over the last year. I have used them in every guitar that has passed through my hands this year. PRS's, Music Man, Gibson.

So i'm asking for a hand one more time so I can get a matched pair to place in my current #1. Thanks in advance.

That has been discussed here a many times from my understanding. The answer is NO because they are Ernie Ball OEM's. You can get the Virtual HOT as a Custom Order but that is all.

Still looking for a set covered, or a set in Zebra and also one in bridge in black. Bridges can be F Spaced, but necks need to be standard spacing.

So his Original Signature Dean had a Dimarzio Humbucker in it. Anyone know what it was?

Ok I could use another Bridge Pup in Black, or Double Cream, or a FULL SET with Nickel Covers.
Bridge can be regular or F Spaced.
