DiMARZIO RELEASES IGNO™ HUMBUCKING PICKUP

Staten Island, N.Y., March 25, 2019 – DiMarzio, Inc. announces the release of the IGNO™ (DP285F) humbucking pickup for electric guitars.

The new IGNO™ pickup was developed for Scott LePage of Polyphia.

Polyphia’s sound is characterized by sleek, upbeat melodies and catchy hooks that have been described variously as progressive, djent, funky, melodic, EDM, and trap. They don’t quite fit into any existing category. Mostly they’re just having fun, making unique music that is inspired by stuff they love.

Scott LePage wanted a bridge pickup that had the power to dig in when needed. Alnico 8 was used to increase the output. The IGNO™ features DiMarzio’s dual resonance design with both coils scatter wound to produce a warm response that’s not too high in the mids. This keeps the clarity and separation between the treble and bass.

DiMarzio’s IGNO™ pickup features black bobbins with distinctive gold pole pieces.

DiMarzio’s IGNO™ Bridge is made in the U.S.A. and may now be ordered for immediate delivery. Suggested List Price is $129.99 (MAP $89.99). For more information about the new IGNO™ humbucking pickup, please visit our website at www.dimarzio.com.

The IGNO™ is available in F-spacing only.

DiMARZIO RELEASES NOTORIOUS™ MINIBUCKER BRIDGE, NECK & MIDDLE PICKUPS

Staten Island, N.Y., March 25, 2019 – DiMarzio, Inc. announces the release of the Notorious™ Minibucker Bridge (DP283), Notorious™ Neck (DP284), and Notorious™ Middle (DP284S) pickups for electric guitars.

The new Notorious™ pickups were developed for Tim Henson of Polyphia.

Tim wanted the Notorious™ Minibucker Bridge to have moderate output in order to balance with his Notorious™ single coils in the neck and middle. This bridge pickup needed to have shimmering clarity and focus to capture his playing style. The Notorious™ Minibucker Bridge is the one that Tim likes to shred on.

Tim likes the clarity and focus of a vintage single coil in a 21-fret guitar and wanted to capture the same response and tone in his 24-fret signature guitar. The Notorious™ Neck and Middle single coils are voiced to roll off some treble to make up for the brighter location. Calibrated, degaussed Alnico 5 magnets capture the dynamics of vintage single coils. Tim says the Notorious™ Neck and Middle are “great for chords and ringing notes that hold through each other.”

The Notorious™ Neck and Middle are a splendid choice when you are searching for the dynamics of vintage pickups but prefer a smoother top end to even out some harshness in a bright guitar.

Tim shares that most of the time he’s on the fourth position, with the neck and middle pickups together, saying “I like to play Hendrixian-type riffs with it.”

The balanced output of DiMarzio’s Notorious™ pickups is calibrated to blend together, and all three pickups feature gold covers.

DiMarzio’s Notorious™ Minibucker Bridge, Neck, and Middle Model pickups are made in the U.S.A. and may now be ordered for immediate delivery. Suggested List Price for the Notorious™ Minibucker Bridge is $134.99 (MAP $99.99) and the Notorious™ Neck and Middle are $129.99 (MAP $89.99) each. Thanks for posting this, Budd.

Now that is what I perceive as good marketing. That information along with specs and tech tips is now on the manufacturer's website. None of the pickups would be of interest to me personally but the description of the context they were designed for should provide any interested guitar player with enough information to make an informed purchase decision. Well done DiMarzio!

Cheers Stephan
