Need a new pickup
« on: September 10, 2018, 09:23:39 pm »
New here, long time dimarzio user. I currently have an EVO set in an Ibanez RGT of which i am looking to replace the bridge EVO with sonething a bit less shrill, less output, same clarity and tightness if possible, and maybe a tad less compressed. I play a lot of different genres but generally lean towards progressive and death metal for the most part, run through an evh5153mini 50w and a modded mesa teansatlantic or modded fender supersonic depending how I feel for the night. I love the neck position but I have been eying the EVO 2, D-Sonic, Dominion, and Imperium to be a possible replacement and have been looking for comparisons to the EVO. I have used the crunchlab but did not like it. I do not like the steves special with scooped mids. Overall I would aim towards something like the Norton with a bit more tightness and maybe just a smidge more output. If anyone has any ideas please feel free to comment!

The Evo2 sounds like a good candidate.
