Official Press Release: Pandemonium
« on: April 12, 2018, 10:55:52 PM »
Got this last week and finally found the time to post it here. I'm very tempted to give these humbuckers a try.

###

Staten Island, N.Y., April 6, 2017 – DiMarzio, Inc. announces the release of the Pandemonium™ Neck (DP276F) and Bridge (DP277F) humbucking pickups for electric guitars.

The new Pandemonium™ humbuckers were developed for sensational guitarist Nita Strauss. Nita is known for hard rocking metal. She wanted a modern take on a classic rock sound.

The coils on the Pandemonium™ Neck Model are tuned far enough apart to create clean, open mids with sweet highs and lows. It can go from smooth solos to pristine, dynamic chords.

The Pandemonium™ Bridge Model is a modern take on the classic rock pickup, with a big voice that covers a lot of ground. The coils are tuned to slightly different frequencies to capture both solid lows and warm highs. The Pandemonium™ Bridge Model is equally at home with power chords and solos.

DiMarzio’s Pandemonium™ humbucking pickups feature a custom pickup grill designed especially for Nita. Nita’s logo design is cut all the way through the black metal cover, allowing the Double Cream™ bobbins below to show through.

When you’re on the road playing different venues as much as Nita is, you discover exactly what works and what doesn’t. You can rest assured that the Pandemonium™ humbuckers will perform because they’re 100% road tested by Nita.

DiMarzio’s Pandemonium™ Neck and Bridge Model pickups are made in the U.S.A. and may now be ordered for immediate delivery. Suggested List Price is $199.99 each (MAP $139.99). For more information about the new Pandemonium™ pickups, please visit our website at www.dimarzio.com.

The Pandemonium™ humbuckers are available in F-spacing only.

I’m interested in how Nita describes them.

The street price isn’t going to do it for me.

Yeah the price point is a bit on the high side, probably because of the cover. I'm still very tempted to try one. It seems pretty solid.

oh yeah, it's a cool sounding concept.

at least the Velorum and Dark Matter pickups are still available w/out covers as the Gravity Storm.  the DM2 and the Sonic Ecstasy appear to also only available with the covers at an increased price.  some customers don't go for a lack of options, as with the PAF 59 set.

who ever forks over that dough, it'd be interesting to see what the specs are for each coil.  when Nita says she wanted a mix of an Evo and a D Activator, I immediately wondered if they just took one coil of each to make her set.

That mix makes these pickups seem even more interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if they did just take one coil from each to make this set.

I might be interested if I could get this without that cover. It just doesn’t do it for me looks-wise.
I emailed Dimarzio about this yesterday.

Very much agreed. Can’t tell if these “you have to buy it” covers are also an impact on the pricing, which can appear to be the case with this “trend” of apparent vanity upgrades.

Dimarzio told me they come as is, and no modifications are planned.
That’s a bummer.
I’m not a buyer in that case.
