The Illuminator set really got me on board with the JP vibe. A lot more open and lively than I found the CL/LF. The SE set looks like it might be trying to bridge the gap a little between the two. It will be interesting to see how these sound.

Looking at the specs this could be a major departure from the standard dimarzio.  Nickle/silver baseplate, with the eq specs I would imagine the coils are balanced in DCR reading.  More difference in coil reading = opens up more perceived highs.

Looking forward to hearing reviews on these.

This topic interests me, though i'm with jazzfromhell in that Petrucci's current tone is nothing special. His tone on BCASL was the last one i liked; everything after that, nope.

Does anybody have clips comparing the Crunch Lab/Liquifire, Illuminators, and the Sonic Ecstasys?
