pickup potting

hi all
i`ve just recently repaired my evo bridge pickup and now it squeels  real bad!
anybody know of a quick fix or does it need repotting?can i buy the wax or just use candle wax?any help/ideas gratefully received.

Could you please explain what kind of repairs you performed on the PU?
Maybe you left something loose in the reassembling process. Check if everything is tight again and pouring a little wax in there won't hurt, regular wax works for that fi that's what you have at hand.
I doubt you really need to re-pot the coils.

one of the coils kept cutting out and i eventually found that where the copper wire joins the outer wire the solder joint had broken so i resoldered it and alls fine(apart from the squeeling which is constant on a lead (amp)setting.

If you didn't work on the coils themselves there should be no problem with their potting.
Just check that everything is tight. Be careful with the screws that hold the coils to the baseplate, is easy to crack the coils if those screws are too tight.
Pour some wax on the innards of the PU and heat it up with a hair dryer, carefully, until the wax runs and see if that solves your problem.
