R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio
« on: May 16, 2010, 05:09:18 pm »
Just heard the news, Ronnie James Dio passed away this morning.  Rest in Peace Ronnie

My first aftermarket pickup was a Super Distortion back in the 70's.  I strayed and tried Rio Grandes, Duncans, and EMGs only to come back to Dimarzio.  Funny were life takes you.

That's messed up!Ronnie was an awesome singer! with a lot of soul. That might seem odd considering his music, but to me soul doesn't only mean blues it means PUTTING YOURSELF in EVERY NOTE u PROJECT!HE could float like an ANGEL or he could ROAR like a NEON KNIGHT from a SUBTERRANEAN BATTLE GROUND!,don't even mention his VIBRATO...AMAZING.They don't make em like that anymore.LONG LIVE ROCK & ROLL!

The Norton won't tame anything.  A fantastic pickup, it will make your LP sound like a wild mongoose who is piloting a F-22 raptor and smoking crystal meth

This is really sad.

I think Portnoys twitter post about it sums it up beautifully.

"Looks like Dime, Randy, Cliff and Bonzo just scored the ultimate singer....this is one of the saddest days in metal ever.... : ("

Keep Rockin' Ronnie James. \m/
