Clips

These clips where done quickly and with slight reverb only and without mastering.

EDIT BY CITYOFBLINDINGLIGHTS: The ISCV2 Single Coil pickup is the middle pickup used in Steve Vai's signature JEMs. It is calibrated to match the Evolutions and the Breeds. There is also a JEM Single Coil calibrated to match PAF Pros, although no one ever really mentions or needs it. If you don't want to try to get your hands on one of these (or are too lazy to head over to eBay), DiMarzio recommends the HS-2 wired in single coil mode.

If i don't say so myself, the ISCV2 is HOT.

And I honestly have no clue where the heck DiMarzio came up with the name ISCV2. Probably some obscure alchemaic phrase used to turn iron into gold...

The sole purpose of the ISCV2 is to sit between the Evolution bridge and neck. <-------this is the only specs I could ever get out of Dimarzio.

My take on it is, see above....................... and it does this well for the 2 & 4 strat positions

Damn, LuredMaul ftw! So many clips!!!

I'd hand out karma for each sound clip, but there's a one hour time limit between karma.

Couple of things:
-Bud posted a bunch of tech specs on the ISCV2, I'll dig 'em up and find them tomorrow, during human hours.
-Title changed, respectively, in order to reflect the true name of the pickup.

I played a jem and that single sounded like a steaming pile of twang crap. It did not agree with me, but I think it had evo's
instead of evolution's.

+1 karma frome me!

I remember seeing in old Ibanez Catalogs that the middle pickup in the Jem's were called the Jem single, it was also used in some of the PGM 300/301 models. I'm guessing it's the same pickup renamed?

That's a possibility. I've never cared enough to bug Steve Blutcher about it but maybe someone here should send him an e-mail about it.

On apex guitars, the blaze middle is used on the neck. From video's it sounds like a wider spectrum tele which is cool...anyone tried the ISCV2 on neck? I wonder if the noise would be too much when wanting to shred.
